FAIRY PRINCESS FOUNDER

Akiera is an environmental justice practitioner and multi-hyphenated creative. She is a local Bed Stuy native with deep Caribbean roots. After she found herself through the ups and downs of being financially broke upon graduating undergrad and wanting to look fly on them NYC streets, Akiera started Bed Stuy Clothes Swap during fall 2018 right in front of her house. As a lover of radical Black joy, horror movies, dream building and immersive soundscapes, Akiera is deeply invested in creating brave spaces for co-dreaming, resilience and joy.

PARTNERS COORDINATOR & CO-CONTENT CURATOR QUEEN

She/Her

Traci is a creator of many mediums and a partners coordinator of Bed Stuy clothes Swap. She loves connecting with local creatives at jam sessions, vibing out at the park, laughing at a good comedy show, and styling her friends whenever she can. As a new resident in Brooklyn, she’s looking forward to expanding resources, encouraging sustainability, and joining the community here in Bed Stuy.

LISA

SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGY QUEEN

Lisa is a digital strategist based in Crown Heights, and a social media manager for Bed-Stuy Clothes Swap. She works at the intersection of social media and activism and spends a lot of her time thinking about ways that social media can shift power to those who were born without it. In her spare time, she runs, cooks Punjabi food, annoys her cat Jalebi, and reads Octavia Butler.

She/Her

Chelsea Williams is a writer, filmmaker, actor, storyteller and a content creator for Bedstuy Clothes Swap. She is a graduate of New York University and has her B.F.A. in Dramatic Writing and Africana Studies. Her interests in social issues, BIPOC led spaces, sustainable/accessible fashion, and the role of video and photo in archiving Black life coalesce in her involvement with The Bedstuy Clothes Swap. She enjoys bringing together the community through our events, being a part of the BSCS team, and looks forward to many more swaps!
